SUMMARY:

Responsible for the coordination, administration, and direction of all activities relating to payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, as well as established company policies, procedures, and controls, while maintaining the strictest level of confidence throughout the Payroll Department. Responsible also for the filing of quarterly and annual tax returns.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises the activities of the Payroll staff. .Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field of study from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience of at least, six years of related payroll experience including at least 3 years in a payroll supervisory role


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have experience performing full processing of payroll (in-house), preparing and filing taxes, garnishments, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (Union). Infinium software knowledge preferred. Knowledge of 401(k) and union payroll handling preferred. Must be extremely attentive to details, and possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate with heavy use of Excel
