SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring all china and glassware is cleaned efficiently and promptly providing all facets of the dining venue available stock of silver and dish ware on a continual basis. Organizing banquet silver, china, and glass.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Perform excellent customer service at all time.
  • Supervises dishwashers and stewards in designated venues.
  • Ensures compliance to standards set by management in scraping, racking, stacking, and washing of dishware, silverware, glassware, cooking utensils, and pans, etc.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and sanitary.
  • Assists in maintaining standards of health and safety.
  • Participates as a team member with Food Servers, Utility, Cooks, Supervisors and any pertinent Team Members in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of Guest Service. Responsible for scheduling of all dishwashers and stewards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Works with training department to facilitate training on sanitation, chemicals, cleaning components, dish machine operations including cleaning.
  • Any reasonable request made by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly responsible for supervising the activity of Dishwashers and Stewards on a daily basis as well as training kitchen staff on safety procedures.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
